SM Cares and SM Bowling Center at the SM City North EDSA Annex hosted the first bowling event of Best Buddies Manila. Best Buddies Manila is the sister-arm of Best Buddies International, a non-profit organization that promotes friendship between Persons With Disability (PWD) and us.
Engr. Bien Mateo who is the program director for SM Cares PWD Committee said that thru this initiative, it is their way of showing support to Best Buddies Manila and the PWDs under its care.
The friendly competition is not only fun and enjoyable but is also therapeutic for the PWDs. Coincidentally, sports is a social activity that show no barriers and is easily adapted by everyone.
The sports event is a brainchild of Best Buddies International, a nonprofit group that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, and leadership development for people with intellectual and development disabilities.
Mr. Chito Bauzon of SM Cares being interviewed by the bloggers. He shared that Some members of the Philippine Special Olympics Team plays at the SM Bowling Center free of charge. And that there are many numerous advocacies and projects that SM Cares is already doing.
