Amway Nutrilite Celebrates 80 Years

Amway and Nutrilite Health Institute recently marked the 80th anniversary of Nutrilite by releasing the 2014 Nutrilite Global Phytonutrient Report. This report examines the global fruit and vegetable intake and its health implications.

Before the word "phytonutrients", became known, and this was even before the word "vitamin" became popular, Nutrilite founder Carl Rehnborg was already observing and making research in China about the connection of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and its impact on a person's health. He was already making and experimenting on health supplements during that time.

Carl's vision, research and experiments led to the discovery that by preserving these phytonutrients in supplement form, we can easily fill the nutrition gaps in our diet when we can't have enough fruits and vegetables.

The Nutrilite Global Phytonutrient Report states a gap between the needed amount of fruits and vegetables recommended by the World Health Organization and what people actually eat. That discrepancy may be due to busy schedule, personal taste preference, or even poverty.

The report aims to educate people to understand how they can and should eat in order to fill their nutritional gaps and make an investment each and every day to live healthier lives for the benefit of their families and for themselves.

Nutrilite's philosophy of optimal health embodies healthy balanced nutrition that includes an abundance of plant foods and regular physical activity or exercise as two key foundational components for everyone. - Dr. Keith Randolph, technology strategist at the Nutrilite Health Institute.
