GADGET REVIEW: Kata F2

We unboxed Kata F2 recently and wrote our first impressions here -- Kata F2 Unboxed and its now available in Kata outlets and LazadaPH online store for only P3,999. Now let's find out more about what this latest Kata smartphone has to offer.

As I've said during my Kata F2 Unboxed post, I love the "pearly" white casing. I'm sure the girls will find this color elegant like I do. Another reason for choosing white vs the black and the gray casing is that you won't notice the "finger print" marks that much. I mean, most phones (except those with matte casing or the leather ones) have this flaw. But if you're an OC like someone I know, then wipe your cellphone clean with a small cloth every now and then.

The screen is also protected with Dragontrail Glass. This is a specially crafted-glass that is scratch proof. I do have this habit of placing phones inside my bag without any thought that it might get scratched so thumbs up for this Dragontrail Glass. My Kata F2 screen looks good as new.

Accesories: manual, battery (already inside the phone), charger / usb cord, earphone

The phone's 1850mAh battery can last for more than a day if you will only use it for calls and sms. However, if you are fond of using Apps like most people, then you have to charge it at least once a day. Charging time for a completely drained battery is about 2 hours. Earphone's okay especially if you want to enjoy listening to your favorite music or while watching videos.

P.S. my daughter says that the phone charges fast if its on "airplane" mode.

Camera Features: 8MP Rear + 5MP Front

Here's Mark Neumann, the lead actor of TV5's Baker King. Photo was taken outdoors, sans filter.

Here's another outdoor shot under the bright afternoon sun.

Here are indoor shots taken around 1pm when the sun is at its brightest ---

This photo was taken inside the mall using HDR. Lights inside the mall tends to be "yellowish" so the photos below have different "colors."

Here's an indoor shot but I changed "exposure" settings to plus (+) 3. Photo quality is brighter as compared with the previous photos wherein I did not change anything from the camera settings.

With this burger photo, I used the phone's editing feature to heighten the colors.

This photo was taken outdoors, around 9pm during the pageant night of Mrs. Philippines Globe in Moonbay Beach, Subic. I used the zoom-in feature of the camera. Color brightness is nicer as compared with the photo below because the "lighting" here is better. However, the faces in the photo tend to be "grainy."

Didn't use the zoom-in feature of the camera in this photo (below). Sorry, I have a senior moment and forgot that the camera phone has a "flash" setting. But this photo is nicer than the other one (above).

Games.

So I downloaded some games. Plants VS Zombies. I haven't played this game for ages and really had fun. The screen is just the right size for me and the graphics are nice also (not blurry nor anything). It loads fast also. This game has been keeping me awake till the wee hours of the morning though. Not recommended. ;)

Here's another game that I downloaded. This is called death shooter. I just wanted to check the graphics and the game speed. Thumbs up!

Watching KDrama.

The Kdrama-addict in me can't resist watching my fave online series on Kata F2. Great resolution. This is where the earphones comes in handy so that I can watch Hwajung to my heart's content. As if naman I understand Korean- hahaha.

I also used the Kata F2 Video feature to capture the RCBC It Girls New Generation. Video quality and sound is quite good. Thumbs up!

Overall, I am happy with Kata F2. It also has dual-SIM and an SD card slot. Aside from the specs, the price of Kata F2 is also very affordable.

    1. I think most of us really need a scratch-proof glass ... I mean, even screen protectors are getting expensive ...
